Monday, March 1st, 2010

If you’ve already tried a variety of the stop smoking aids, and you’ve tried quitting without any help at all, you may think it’s just not meant to be. If you haven’t tried  hypnosis, you should take a minute to consider the possibility.

I have been trying out some of the hypnosis sessions from HypnosisDirect.com and they are pretty amazing in my estimation but they do need to be listened to more than once!

When the word “hypnosis” is mentioned, many people immediately conjure up images of the comedic hypnotists that make unsuspecting participants quack like a duck or perform some other ridiculous action. Hypnosis is known to help with various things including with stopping stuttering and even to help people to improve their selling skills for selling items such as cheap holidays and much much more.

It can be very effective for those who are determined to stop inhaling cigarettes. A friend of mine who advises people on becoming a foster carer used it to successfully stop the habit.

Smoking cessation is undeniably difficult. Many people make the error of thinking that hypnotherapy will make it easy for them to quit the cancer sticks. The truth is that most who undergo hypnosis still report an occasional craving for a cigarette. There’s no doubt that it isn’t easy, and there seems to be no methods that work without the will power of the smoker.

That’s not to say that hypnosis doesn’t work – quite the contrary. And there are those people who report that they never again have the desire to pick up another cigarette.

Support is another important factor, and you may very well get the needed support as part of the quit smoking forever hypnosis program. It may well be a regular group meeting or where the hypnotherapist accepts additional appointments over a set period of time.

Despite what some people think,  hypnosis isn’t a magic cure. Regardless of what programs you try, you’re likely going to experience some withdrawal and there will be times that cigarettes seem very appealing. For people who are serious about it then hypnosis could prove to be the alternative form of therapy that could work for them.

There’s no doubt that cigarettes are detrimental to your health, and that there are incredible benefits to quitting. Isn’t it time you considered hypnotherapy?

So You Want to Know How to Quit Smoking Cigarettes

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Needing to get some help on how to quit smoking cigarettes is nothing for which you should be ashamed. Years ago people really didn’t have any help available when they were ready to quit and simply needed to tough it out, dealing with the cravings and mood swings and everything else that came with smoking cessation the best they could. This may be one of the reasons why so many people failed to quit for good! But today there are many options available when it comes to help to quit smoking and thankfully, many of those options are very effective!

Many turn to nicotine replacement products for help on how to quit smoking cigarettes. This might include patches, gum or pills. Over time the body learns how to go without nicotine when these remedies are used till eventually you can function quite happily without it. The doses of these treatments are usually staggered so that the amount you need lessens as time goes on. The nicotine is then reduced by small increments until it’s gone from your body for good. This can be a great help, as opposed to just giving up cigarettes for good all at once.

There are also things you can do if you need help to quit smoking “cold turkey.” You could use a herbal remedy such as Cigarest or many doctors recommend that you exercise as much as possible and drink lots of water when you give up cigarettes. The water will help to flush out the nicotine, tar, and other toxins from your body as will the sweat produced when you exercise. If you can get them out of your system your cravings will lessen dramatically. Exercise will also cut down on the nervousness and fidgety feelings one usually feels when you give up cigarettes. These may seem like elementary things but they do really help to quit smoking and help with the other unpleasant side effects of stopping suddenly.

You might assume that you won’t need help to quit smoking but it’s best to be prepared, just in case. Try a nicotine patch when you quit and be sure your home is full of healthy snacks and lots of water. Make some time to exercise and if you are still having problems then make an appointment with your doctor to talk about your options. He or she may be able to recommend some specific help to quit smoking that would work just for you.
